Root HTC Explorer

Now you can do and expect lot more from your little master – HTC Explorer by just rooting your device. We’ve written a very easy guide to root your HTC Explorer so you can enjoy the power of Custom ROMs as well as applications which need root access. With a Rooted Explorer you can even boost the performance by overclocking your phone’s 600 MHz processor. Before you move ahead towards pre requisites and  procedure, let us make it clear that rooting your device will void its warranty and only way to reclaim your warranty is by installing the official firmware again. Also don’t try this guide on Network locked HTC Explorer’s. This guide is safe and tested but still we shouldn’t be held responsible for any damage occurred to your device by following our guide.
We’ve prepared some  preliminary instructions that we believe are important and should be read out carefully before you begin

 Pre Requisites:

  • Rooting your device will void its warranty and only way to reclaim warranty is by installing the official firmware again.
  • This update is not meant for “Network Locked” devices. Don’t apply this guide on any network locked device or else it may damage your phone.
  • Backup your important data like contacts, messages and important applications. You can use My Backup to back up your applications.
  • Make sure your phone is charged to atleast 50 percent.
  • USB Debugging should be enabled in your phone. For enabling USB debugging go to :

Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and check in the USB debugging option.

  • Finally install all the required USB drivers so that we can connect it to PC. We’ll suggest you to install HTC PC suite which will automatically install all the latest USB drivers on your PC.

Procedure:

  • First of all you have to unlock the boot loader of your HTC Explorer. For that we’ll suggest you to follow the official guide from HTC as it is pretty simple and safe. The below pic gives a quick overview for unlocking boot loader.

  • Up next, we have to install a recovery tool in your mobile through which you’ll be able to install custom ROMs. For that download the A310E Recovery Package  and extract it somewhere on your computer.
  • Connect your HTC Explorer to the computer and find out recovery.bat file in the extracted folder. You must have installed all the required USB drivers so that we can connect it to PC. We’ll suggest you to install HTC PC suite which will automatically install all the latest USB drivers on your PC.
  • While the device is connected, run the recovery.bat file. This will flash recovery tool into your HTC Explorer.
  •  Up next, we have to install a Super user package for gaining root access. For that download the Super user Zip File on your Recovery mode of HTC Explorercomputer. Once downloaded, copy it to your phone and remove the USB cable.
  •  Enable USB Debugging in your phone. For enabling USB debugging go to:

Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and check in the USB debugging option.

  • Now turn off your phone and boot into recovery mode. For entering into recovery mode, press the Volume UP Key + OK button+ Power Button simultaneously. You may to try again, if your device boots up in normal mode. Please note that just in case if the device boots up in the normal mode, you need to again try entering into the recovery mode
  • Up next, select “install zip from SD card option in boot screen and navigate it to superuser zip file which we copied above in phone. Now be patient, as it will take a while to get installed. Once completed, press “++ Go Back ++” option and then “reboot system”. That’s all.
  • Finally,you have rooted the HTC explorer in your hand, congratulations!!
